We arrive in Hue in the late afternoon and go straight to the Perfume river. Hanh booked the dragon boat ride with some singing performance and dinner on board.

People are living on the boat. They prepared 8 courses dinner for us just in the back of the boat without running water or a kitchen table. You’d better don’t see that. I start feeling sick. I think, it was too oily. Let’s see.
Next day we visit the Citadel. The huge complex comprises 3 Cities: Civic, Imperial and Forbidden Purple Cities. The history of Vietnam kings is quite interesting. Hundreds of years of domination by different empires.

We do a tanda in one of the pavilions. Some Chinese join us.
Then we visit the Thien Mu or Heavenly Lady Pagoda which is the iconic symbol of Hue. Founded in 1601 it is dominated by a seven-story Source of Happiness Tower.

Not feeling very well I don’t go to the Royal Tombs like almost everyone on the group. We all need some rest and I need to write everything down before it’s gone. I definitely missed a big piece of culture and architecture. One reason more to come again 😉
In the evening we go to the floating restaurant and have milonga there with some local people.
